The Quality Control
Two of our first Demonstrators, the 4500 and 5800 were
built to Maritime Safety Authorities "MSA" commercial passenger
charter survey and follow ABYC electrical codes. To ensure this,
the services of New Zealand's most experienced construction and
design consultants are employed.
Firstly drawings are sent to a plan approval authority, basically
a government approved Naval Architect for checking. We used SGS
M&I (www.nz.sgs.com)
who reviewed every page of drawings for commercial passenger safety
approval before construction. SGS are a multinational company
so have a broad knowledge base and ISO operating standards to
refer to.

The past 15 years of survey work has enabled him to see the best
and worst practices from NZ and Australian yards and this experience
has been invaluable for the yards he visits. Whether you choose
for full survey standard or just to plan approval, the commercial
grade standards of the New Zealand marine industry are available
at Activa.

Adventure Bay Inspections
During construction regular 4-6 weekly inspections from myself
or our fleet Captain ensure all is being built to plan and many
customisation issues can be overcome with frequent on-site decisions.
Years of building boats and operating boats in a live-aboard role
have shown us where the user-friendly features are needed and
how maintenance reducing systems and good planning and design
is a must.
